Classical Music Master Collection App Reviews

Good but not great!!!

Some items missing that when available app will be complete: Search, better sound quality, use less battery, and the most important: be able to use the iPhone while listening to music. Like the IPod that comes with the phone.

I hate it!!!

Dont buy it: it doesnt work, it is to heavy and when you try to get rid of it, it will stick to your phone and computer. Terrible!!!

Some features still needed

I think this app is a great idea, esp. for people who want to become more culturally educated. However, I think some improvements have to made urgently. 1. The program crashes very very often. Such behavior could be tolerated from a free app, but this app is far from even cheap. 2. While such great composers as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Mozart are represented by many tracks, many other composers are clearly under-represented (Mendelsson, Strauss, Rachmaninov, Satie, Paganini). Johann Pachelbel is not in the collection at all! 3. More sophisticated navigation is needed: e.g. collapse the list, so that only the composers are visible. Also, it would be nice if the program could remember the last played track and the sound level. Another useful functionality would be to scroll to the song that is now being played, in case one has scrolled away from it. Also, in the case one scrolls away from the currently played track, there is no way to see the name of the track anywhere on the screen.

Classical music master collection

Bad sound quality. Like listening to an old fashioned radio with no stereo and fuzzy background static. Not for lovers of classical music.

Pretty nice!!

But needs continuous play, love the app but I hate that I have to always click next song at the end of each piece, I would like it to always play and only stop when I click stop! Please fix this and it will be a 5 star from me.

Wonderful

This app is wonderful for listening in your car or on the go on your iPhone, there is nothing wrong with the sound, and IT DOES HAVE CONTINOUS PLAY, with the ADDED option to repeat 1 song aswell, and a shuffle option too. It is a bargain, and worth every penny!!!!

Very bad hissing

Application idea is great but interface is bad sound have way too much hissing noise I used Shure SE530 + iBasso D10 for DAC & Amp with gold connector between my iTouch and the D10 but sound is so inferior If you do classical you do them for music saavy people so get serious and try to clean it or do it in larger format not the old midi format

Need a serious update

It was obvious i was irritaded by the fact that the app open as reduced in the center of screen. N with that basic resolution of pic very hard to read... But at least i realised that if the app is reduce in background n reopen, it appear the same size of screen at least. If one day n update is made to have a visual more at the level of latest phones, it would b more attractive to buy the app. About the quality of music its not the best but considering the library size its ok!

a bit expensive

every time this app is updated, my favorites list was gone. strongly request to improve this point. a composer search bar on the right is hard to control

Quality low

The collection is quite comprehensive but the music quality is very low. Especially with the ear phones it is a misery.

Delightful

Listening to a variety of successful composers with the very rare recordings in one app. Bach, Haendel, Choping... exciting.

Imbarazzante

Good idea. But need a dramatic better use of the APIs (like the multitasking with the integrated player controls) and overall more stability!!

Terrible Sound Quality

I just wasted 99 cents. I guess you get what you pay for. This music plays through the application not the ipod music player. The volume is about half the level of the regular ipod music player. I compared some Vivaldi I had purchased some time ago and loaded on my ipod touch to the same Vivaldi from this classical music app and the difference was dramatic. This 99 cent app has no richness of sound. It is comparable to the sound of a $6 transistor radio I listened to in the 1960s. I removed the app from my ipod.

Just so so.

Nice collection but poor sound quality.

Good classical musical

Pretty bad interface.

So-so

Most of the stars Ive given here are for sheer volume. There is a lot of content in this app. Some of it is not bad, but some of the tracks are very poor quality and there is a massive amount of background noise on some. For me, one of the biggest things lacking is the ability to "favorite" certain songs. That is something that absolutely should have been included in an app like this. The interface is very limited. It just feels sloppy and sort of thrown together without intent to create a nice and functional program. I hate to say it,but this was no ones labour of love. This was an obvious attempt at making money fast....well they got mine, heh. Good thing it was only 99 cents.

Great selection of music but only passable sound quality

Great selection of music but only passable sound quality.. most music was performin in the 50s so I question if they are public domain but still at $.99 you get 700 songs so it it still a good value. As long as they keep the price low, it is a good value. interface needs some work though..

Really good classical music--great for transcontinental flights

This is a strange way of packaging music--it is an application, and the classical recordings are of very high quality. Classical means just that--Bach is about the earliest composer and there is only a sprinkling of Mahler or Stravinsky. Often times the recordings are from the 50s-60s, which sound pretty good through the earphones. As others have mentioned, these are not new CD recordings, and the recorded volume is rather low, requiring playing them back at the highest volume level. For sure, dont bother with the iPhone speakers. The choice of the music is interesting--it is rather complete, with emphasis on piano and voice works from the masters. There are a few duplications (different artists/performances). The collection is a rather even handed sprinking of sonatas, concerti, symphonies, and vocal works. Each composition is complete, but not all similar works for a given composer are included. For $0.99, You could never otherwise accumulate such an excellent collection. It is disappointing that some of your favorites will not be included, and there is no way to add or delete pieces. But that also means that the whole set will stay intact and not be lost via some missed keystroke in iTunes. Very highly recommended. Lets have more of these, perhaps complete sets for given composers.

Nice but...

Great! But poor quality! :( Bye! ;)

Wont install for me either!

I have 3.5 GB free and my touch tells me it doesnt have enough space. I even emailed the vendor and he said it is they cant duplicate the issue and talk to Apple about it!! Apple, do you read these comments? How about posting what the problem is? Is there a defined size Apps partition on a 2Gen touch? Mine is 8 GB, I wonder what size the other person with problems has....
